Your Smile

Our conversation tonight:

Mom, I love your smile.

Thank you Buddy.

It lets me know you love me, that’s why I like your smile.

There’s nothing like a child’s view to put life into perspective. And a reminder to myself to be sure and smile daily.

I Want Those

Buddy, his dad and I were practicing martial arts the other day and Buddy finished a little before we did. He went over to the corner and sat on our weight machine. All of a sudden he says:

“Dad, show me your muscles.”

Dad obliged.

“Yeah, I want those.” He puts his own arms up to show his muscles in comparison and then proceeds to “pump iron.”

Lord help us if he really goes after it.

It came out

On our way to the sitter’s house this morning Buddy lost his first tooth.

He had it in his hand looking at it for a while, grinning ear to ear the entire time. And then he said:

“It’s really clean Mom. That’s good ’cause the tooth fairy likes clean teeth. Maybe she’ll bring me a Ben 10 toothbrush so I can keep the new one clean too.”

Leave it to my kid to ask for a toothbrush instead of money. No complaints with that.
